Scheme Introduction : A Brief Overview

• The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is known for its scheme that often disrupts the political arena.
• In the recent years, we have seen various governments start offering free electricity to citizens and free bus rides specifically to women, a trend initiated by the AAP during Delhi Elections.
• The Free electricity scheme was a game changer for AAP, whether it is in Delhi Assembly election or in Punjab.
• With the Delhi Assembly elections due in February 2025, AAP has come up with a one of its kind scheme, called the "Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana".
• Under the scheme, the AAP party has promised to provide a honorarium of Rs 18,000/- to Hindu Priest's and Sikh Granthis.

Scheme Benefits

• Delhi former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announces "Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana" which offers the following benefits to its beneficiaries : -
  • Financial assistance or honorarium of Rs 18,000/- to priest of Hindu Temple and Granthis of Sikhs Gurudwara.
  • Honorarium will be provided every month.
  • Assistance will be credited directly to the priest's bank account.

Eligibility Requirements

• To receive the monthly assistance of Rs 18,000/- under the Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana, the beneficiaries must meet the following eligibility criteria : -
  • Assistance is for Hindu Priest and Sikh Granthis only.
  • Beneficiary must be a domiciled resident of Delhi.
  • The temple and gurudwara must be in the region of Delhi NCT.

Steps to Apply

• The Delhi Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced an initiative called as Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana.
