Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Finally, the Delhi Government has announced to implement its much awaited women centric scheme known as "Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana".
• Eligible women can register for the scheme to receive monthly assistance of Rs. 1,000/-.
• However, AAP supremo and former CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has promised to increase the assistance amount to Rs. 2,100/- if their party forms the government again in the assembly election due in February 2025.
• Initially, the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana was announced by the Ex- Finance Minister and Current Delhi CM, Smt. Atishi during the annual budget on March 4, 2024.
• A budget of Rs 2,000 Crore has been sanctioned by the government for the scheme implementation.
• The primary objective of the scheme is to empower women of Delhi by providing them with monthly financial assistance.
• Women can use the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana assistance amount to meet their daily needs.
• After implementation of this scheme, it is going to be known by some other names such as "Delhi Chief Minister Mahila Samman Scheme" or "Delhi Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana" or "Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme" or "Delhi Financial Assistance Scheme for Women" or "Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojna".
• While announcing the scheme, the government promised to raise the assistance amount from Rs 1,000/- to Rs. 2,100.
• However, the increased amount will only be provided by the government if the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) wins the Delhi Assembly Elections and forms the government again.
• Until then, Rs. 1,000/- per month will be provided to every eligible women beneficiary under Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana by the Delhi Government.
• The benefit of financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month under Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana will be provided to only those women beneficiaries whose age is above 18 years.
• All Married and Unmarried Women are eligible to apply for monthly financial assistance.
• Beneficiaries who are receiving other pension benefits (Old Age Pension, Disability Pension, and Financial Assistance Scheme to Women in distress) and are employees of state or central government and those who are income tax payers will be excluded from the scheme.
• Except the above mentioned women, each and every woman of Delhi is eligible to apply and get the financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month under Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana.
• Application Registration for Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana commenced from December 23. 2024.
• Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers will do door to door registration under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana.
• For registration, it is mandatory to have a Voter ID Card and women's name must be listed in the voter list.
• If any woman possesses a voter Id card but her name is not in the voter list will not receive assistance.
• After registration, party workers or volunteers will handover the scheme registration card called 'Kejriwal Kavach Card' to the beneficiaries.
• First installment of Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana is likely to be credited in beneficiary bank accounts in January 2025.
• In future, the Registration of Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana is likely to be done through Online Application Form.

Scheme Benefits

• Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana provides following benefits to its eligible women beneficiaries : -
  • Women above 18 years of age will receive monthly financial assistance.
  • Each women will receive monthly assistance of Rs. 1,000/-.
  • Assistance amount will be credited to the bank account of beneficiaries women.
  • Assistance amount shall be increased to Rs. 2,100/- if party wins the upcoming elections.
    

Eligibility Requirements

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month under Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana will be provided to only those women beneficiaries who fulfill the following eligibility criteria : -
  • Women Beneficiary should be a Resident of Delhi.
  • Beneficiaries age should be between 18 to 60 years.
  • Annual Family Income of the beneficiary should be less than Rs 3 Lakh.

Ineligibility Criteria of Scheme

• Women who fall under any of the below mentioned criteria will not be considered eligible for Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana : -
  • Beneficiaries are receiving other government pensions.
  • Beneficiary paid the income tax in the last assessment cycle.
  • Current or former central or state government employee.
  • Present or former women MP/MLA or councillor.
  • Beneficiary annual family income exceeds Rs. 3,00,000/-.
  • Beneficiary of Old Age Pension, Disability Pension, and Financial Assistance Scheme to Women in distress.

Required Documents

• Beneficiary Women must provide the below mentioned documents at the time of submitting applications for Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana of Delhi Government : -
  • Residence Proof of Delhi.
  • Voter ID Card.
  • Income Certificate. (If Required)
  • Mobile Number.
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • PAN Card.
  • Self Declaration.
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Affidavit.

Steps to Apply

• Women can submit the Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana Application Form.
• The scheme Registration process starts from December 23, 2024.
• Currently the application form for Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana will be accepted offline.
• AAP Workers will fill out scheme applications by visiting door to door.
• Beneficiary women can also contact the nearest AAP party office.
• During registration eligible women need to share her details and documents with the AAP volunteer.
• After the registration is complete, volunteers will handover a yellow registration card which is called 'Kejriwal Kavach Card'.
