Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Karnataka Schedule Tribe Intra Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme is the financial assistance scheme of Karnataka Government.
• Started in the year 2016, this scheme is a major step of the state government to end the caste based discrimination.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to remove the caste based discrimination and make every person of Karnataka equal to each other.
• Department of Scheduled Tribe Welfare of Government of Karnataka is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Under Karnataka Scheduled Tribe Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme, the state government is providing financial assistance of Rs. 2,00,000/- to married couples as an incentive for their marriage.
• However, if the beneficiary received incentive under the simple marriage then they are eligible for 1.5 Lakh assistance under the scheme.
• As the scheme is a Intra Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme, so it is mandatory that married couple should belong to Schedule Tribe Category but they do not share the same sub caste.
• Financial Assistance under Schedule Tribe Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme will only be provided to those Schedule Tribe residents of Karnataka who belong to Scheduled Tribe Category but do not have the same sub caste.
• The Annual Family Income of a Married Couple should be less than Rs. 2,00,000/-.
• Marriages held after 01-04-2018 are eligible for financial assistance under Karnataka ST Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• It is mandatory to apply for financial assistance within 1 year of marriage.
• Application received for financial assistance after 1 year of marriage will not be considered.
• Marriage Certificate is required at the time of applying for Karnataka ST Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• Eligible Couples can apply for financial assistance by filling Online Application Form of Karnataka ST Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.

Scheme Benefits

• The Following Financial Assistance will be provided to couples belonging to Schedule Tribe Category but have different Sub Caste (Intra Caste) :-
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
  • Applicants who receive incentive under simple marriage are eligible for 1.5 lakh assistance.

Eligibility Requirements

• Bride and Groom should be Permanent Residents of Karnataka.
• Bride and Groom should belong to Schedule Tribe Category and have different sub-castes.
• Marriage should be held on or after 01-04-2018.
• Annual Income of the family should be less than Rs. 2,00,000/-
• Application should be submitted within 1 year of marriage.

Steps to Apply

• Beneficiaries can apply for financial assistance under Karnataka ST Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme by filling an Online Application Form.
• Karnataka ST Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme Online Application Form is available on Schedule Tribes Welfare Department Website.
• Beneficiaries have to Register themselves first by entering the Aadhar Number of Bride and Groom.
• After Registration fill the personal details, contact details and marriage details, bank account details of Bride and Groom in the Application Form.
• Upload all the documents in pdf format.
• Preview the Application Form and Click on Submit Button.
• Print the Acknowledgement Receipt further reference.
• ST Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme Application Form along with all the documents will be forwarded to District Tribal Welfare Officer for verification.
• After verification, the financial assistance under Karnataka ST Intra Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme will be transferred in the given bank account of the beneficiary.
