Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Karnataka Schedule Tribe Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Karnataka Government towards removing the discrimination based on caste.
• This marriage assistance scheme was started in the year 2016.
• The primary objective to start this initiative is to reduced the caste based discrimination and make every person of Karnataka par with each other.
• Department of Scheduled Tribe Welfare of Karnataka Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Under Karnataka Schedule Tribe Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme, Karnataka Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 2,50,000/- to Groom and Rs. 3,00,000/- to bride as an incentive for their marriage.
• To receive the scheme benefit either one on of the couple should be of scheduled caste category.
• Financial Assistance under Schedule Tribe Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme will only be provided to those Schedule Tribe residents of Karnataka who marries a Non Schedule Tribe Hindu Person.
• Those couple are not eligible to avail the financial assistance for marriage whose annual family income of is more than Rs. 5,00,000/- per year.
• Marriages held after 07-02-2019 are eligible for financial assistance under Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• Eligible applicants must apply for the scheme within 1.5 years (18 months) of their marriage to receive assistance.
• Application received post the given duration will not be considered and rejected without any prior notice.
• Marriage Certificate is required at the time of applying for Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• Eligible Couples can apply for financial assistance by filling Online Application Form of Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.

Scheme Benefits

• People of ST category will receive the following assistance under the Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme : -

  One time assistance of Rs. 2,50,000/- will be provided to Men. One time assistance of Rs. 3,00,000/- will be provided to Women. Assistance will be provided in two installments i.e. : - 50 percent will be provided in cash. Rest as a fixed deposit for a minimum duration of 3 years.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant should be a Permanent Residents of Karnataka.
• Either bride or groom should belong to Schedule Tribe Category.
• Applicants married on or after 07-02-2019.
• Annual Family Income should be less than Rs. 5,00,000/-.
• Application should be submitted within 1.5 year of marriage.

  • Aadhaar Card of Bride and Groom.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Marriage Photograph.
  • Marriage Certificate.
  • Mobile Number.

Steps to Apply

• Married Couples can apply for financial assistance under Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme by filling an Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme is available on Tribal Welfare Department Website.
• Couple has to Register by entering the Aadhaar Number of Bride and the Aadhaar Number of Groom.
• After Registration fill the personal details, contact details and marriage details, bank account details of Bride and Bride Groom in the Application Form.
• Upload all the documents in the portal in pdf format.
• Preview the Application Form and Submit it.
• Print the Acknowledgement Receipt and secure it for future reference.
• Schedule Tribe Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme Application Form along with all the documents will be verified by the District Tribal Welfare Officer.
• After verification, the financial assistance under Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme will be transferred in the given bank account of the couple.
