Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• The Jharkhand government has launched an ambitious scheme for adolescent girl's called the "Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana".
• With an aim to improve the girl child education, the government is providing financial aid to eligible students under this scheme.
• The scheme was started by Women and Child Development and Social Security Department of Jharkhand, with the primary objective : -
  • To promote girl child education.
  • To end the child marriage practice.
  • To encourage girls for higher education by reducing the school dropout rate.
  • To empower adolescent girls and women.
  • To improve health and personal hygiene.
• Under the initiative, the government provides an annual financial assistance to adolescent girls enrolled from class 8th to class 12th.
• The scheme is also known by other names such as "Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Scheme".
• Over the years, the beneficiary girls will receive a total assistance of Rs 40,000/-, which also includes a one time assistance of Rs 20,000/-.
• The assistance promised under the scheme will be credited to students' bank accounts in 6 instalments, depending on the class they are enrolled.
• Girls enrolled in class 8th and 9th will receive an equal assistance of Rs 2,500/-.
• Whereas, Girls enrolled in class 10th, 11th, and 12th will receive an assistance of Rs 5,000/-.
• The last instalment i.e. one time assistance of Rs 20,000/- will be credited to students' bank accounts when she turns 18 years old.
• Initially, the scheme was introduced by the government in the year 2019 as "Chief Minister Sukanya Yojana'.
• However, in 2022, the scheme name was renamed to "Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana".
• Earlier, the assistance was limited to the first two daughters in a family.
• As per the latest amendment all daughters of the mother are eligible to apply.
• Eligible students meeting all the criteria stated in the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana guidelines can apply for it either online or offline.
• Submitted application will be verified by authority and upon its successful verification the amount will be sanctioned by the DSWO.

Scheme Benefits

• Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana offers the following benefits to adolescent girls of Jharkhand : -

  Financial assistance of Rs 40,000/- will be provided to each eligible girl. This assistance is available for the girls from Class 8 to Class 12. The amount will be credited directly to the student's bank account. From class 8th to class 12th assistance will be credited in the following manner : - Standard Assistance Amount 8th Rs 2500/- 9th Rs 2500/- 10th Rs 5000/- 11th Rs 5000/- 12th Rs 5000/- After attaining 18th years Rs 20,000/-

Eligibility Requirements

• To receive assistance under the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana; beneficiary must meet the following eligibility criteria : -
  • Be a permanent resident of Jharkhand.
  • The benefits are available to all daughters of a family.
  • Parents must not be income tax payers.
  • Girls must have an account in either a Post office or a bank.
  • Parents should not be employed in or retired from a government office.
  • Not receiving pension or family pension

Required Documents

• Applicants must submit the following documents and its details while applying for Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana : -
  • Birth Certificate.
  • Voter ID Card (If any).
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Bank or Post office account Passbook.
  • Parents/Guardian Aadhaar Number.
  • Disabled Certificate (If any)
  • Income certificate.
  • Residence Proof.
  • Mother Self Declaration.
  • Certificate for Orphans girls.
  • Verification Certificate issued by School Principal.

Steps to Apply

• Eligible students can apply for the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana.
• Application forms for Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana are accepted : -
  • Online through a Web Portal.
  • Offline through Anganwadi Centres.

Online Application Process

• Online applications for Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana are available at its Official Web Portal.
• Application process has been divided into two sections i.e. Registration and Form Submission.
• Registration is mandatory for the students to fill the application form.
• On the home page, students need to select 'Beneficiary Login' under the 'Login' Section.
• Next, select the 'Register Now' tab.
  
• Registration form for Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana will appear on the screen.
  
• For registration, applicants need to enter the following details : -
  • Name
  • Mobile Number.
  • District.
  • Security Question and answer.
  • Password.
• After submitting the details, press the 'Register' tab to complete your registration.
• Registration details will appear on the screen and its confirmation will also be sent through SMS.
• Once the registration is completed, students need to 'Login' with their details.
  
• For this, enter the 'Mobile number' and 'Password' in the given field.
• After login, the beneficiary dashboard will appear on the screen.
• Tap on the 'Apply Online' tab from the dashboard.
• Tick the eligibility confirmation dialogue box and click the 'Accept' button.
• Next, fill the details requested in the application form and proceed to fill Part 2.
• Fill the details in the Part 2 application and press the 'Save and Next' tab.
• Review the details to ensure whether the submitted details are correct.
• Upload the requisite documents as mentioned in the notification.
• Once the documents are uploaded successfully applicants can view the application form.
• Press the 'Final Submit' tab to complete the application form submission process.
• Submission confirmation will be received via SMS to the registered mobile number.
  

Offline Application Process

• Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana application form can also be submitted offline.
• Students can download the scheme application form online or collect it from the nearest Angangwadi centre.
• Next, applicants need to fill in all of their details carefully.
• Paste your recent passport size photograph and attach all the necessary documents.
• Submit this duly filled in application to the Child Development Project Officer's Office.
• Authority will verify the application and documents.
• Successfully verified applicants will receive the payment through PFMS.

Key Features of the Scheme

• As per the latest amendment, all daughters in a family are eligible to apply.
• Girls studying in government or in government aided schools are eligible for the scheme benefits.
• Girls enrolled under RTE (Right to Education) in private schools are also eligible.
• For the last installment of the scheme i.e. Rs 20,000/- it is mandatory for the beneficiary to register their name in the voter list.
• Applicants must attach their Voter ID card when submitting application for final installment.
• Students must apply for the last installment before they complete 19 years of age.
• Disabled girls are exempt from the scheme's eligibility criteria.
