• This scheme was part of the Congress party's election manifesto, and they promised to implement the same upon forming the government.
• After securing a thumping victory, the congress party fulfilled its promise and implemented the scheme across the state.
• The Karnataka Uchita Prayana Scheme is one of the major welfare scheme of Karnataka Government for women.
• The main objective behind launching Uchita Prayana Scheme is to reduce the financial burden incur on their travel.
• Under Karnataka Uchita Prayana Scheme, women are entitled to free bus travel across the Karnataka.

Scheme Benefits

• The following benefits will be provided to eligible women beneficiaries under Karnataka Uchita Prayana Scheme : -

  • No Ticket fare will be Charged from Women Beneficiaries travelling in Karnataka Government Buses.
  • Only Government Run Buses will provide Free of Cost Bus Services to Women of Karnataka.

Eligibility Requirements

• Beneficiary should be a Permanent Resident of Karnataka.
• Beneficiary should be a Women.

Required Documents

• The following documents will be required to avail the benefit of Free of Cost Bus Service under Karnataka Uchita Prayana Scheme :-
  • Aadhar Card or Voter Identity Card of Women.

Steps to Apply

• To avail the benefit of free bus ride, eligible women beneficiary has to apply for Smart Card.
• Smart Card will apply on Seva Sindhu Portal by filling the Online Application Form.
• Beneficiary has to Register themselves first.
• After Registration, Login on the same portal.
• Fill the Application Form of Smart Card and upload the required documents.
• After due verification smart card for free bus ride will be provided to every women beneficiary of Karnataka State.
• Women beneficiary can avail the free of cost bus service till she get smart card.
• Free of Cost Bus Service will only provided within the State boundary of Karnataka.
• Women Beneficiary can only avail the benefit of Free Bus Service in Government of Karnataka Run Buses.
