Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• The Jharkhand government has launched a new women centric initiative called the "Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana".
• The scheme aims to cater the financial needs of Women in Jharkhand.
• Initially, the scheme was introduced by former CM Shri Champai Soren as "Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana".
• However, before its official launch, the government decided to amend the scheme name.
• Now 'Mukhyamantri Behan Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana' is renamed as "Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana".
• Scheme offers a fixed monthly financial assistance to all eligible women of Jharkhand.
• As per the scheme, a monthly assistance of Rs 2,500/- will be provided to each eligible women.
• Women and Child Development Department of Jharkhand Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Registration process for Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana commenced from 03-08-2024.
• The main objective of this scheme is to support women of Jharkhand financially, thereby increasing their purchasing power.
• Scheme is also popular by other names such as "Jharkhand Chief Minister Maiyya Samman Yojana" or "Jharkhand Chief Minister Maiyya Samman Scheme" or "Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Scheme".
• Initially, the scheme promised Rs. 1,000/- per month under Jharkhand Government's Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana.
• This means a total of Rs. 12,000/- per will received by beneficiary women under Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana.
• However, on 14th of October 2024, during a cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Sh. Hemant Soren raisd the assistance amount of the Maiyya Samman Scheme.
• Now, All Women Beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana will receive Rs. 2,500/- monthly.
• As per it, the beneficiary women will now receive a yearly assistance of Rs. 30,000/-.
• Increased amount of Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana was transferred by the authority on January 6, 2025. i.e. is the 5th installment of Maiyya Samman Yojana.
• 4th Installment of Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana is already released by the Jharkhand Government on the occasion of Chatt Puja.
• Women aged between 21 to 50 years are eligible to receive assistance provided under the scheme.
• Having a Voter ID Card and Aadhaar Card is mandatory to apply.
• On the 15th of every month, the assistance amount is credited to the beneficiaries bank account.
• During the launch, the government organised special camps from August 3, 2024 for the beneficiaries, where they can submit the Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana application.
• However, such camps are organised until August 10, 2024, and thereafter applicants can submit their application through department or anganwadi centres.
• As last reported, more than 46 Lakh Women applied for financial assistance out of which 43 lakh application form accepted by the Government.
• First Instalment of Maiyya Samman Yojana was transferred in the bank account of Women Beneficiary on 18th of August 2024.
• Thereafter from September, Women Beneficiary will receive Rs. 1,000/- per month on 15th of every month.
• Beneficiary women can apply for Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana through Application Form which can be Downloaded from Here.
• The Jharkhand Government also launched the Official Website of Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana.
• Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana Status Check can be done through Official Website.

Scheme Benefits

• Government of Jharkhand will provide the following benefits to all eligible women under Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana :-
  • A monthly assistance of Rs 2,500/ to all women.
  • Earlier, the scheme promises a monthly assistance of Rs 1,000/-, since December government increase the assistance amount to Rs 2,500/-.
  • Assistance amount will be credited directly to the women's bank account.

Eligibility Requirements

• Financial Assistance of Rs 2,500/- will only provided to those women beneficiary who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana of Government of Jharkhand : -

  Beneficiary Women should be the Permanent Resident of Jharkhand. Age of Beneficiary Women should be between 21 years to 50 years. Beneficiaries should have a Voter ID Card and Aadhaar Card. Beneficiaries should have any of the below mentioned cards :- Yellow Ration Card. Pink Ration Card. White Ration Card. Green Ration Card. Bank Account of Beneficiary Women should be linked with Aadhar.

Ineligibility Criteria

• If any woman falls under any below mentioned category then she is not eligible to avail the benefit of per month financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana :-

  Income Tax Payee Family. EPF Registered Women. If a Woman or her Husband is a :- Central/ State/ PSU Employee. Pensioners. Receiver of any Social Security Pension Scheme. If Family has Current or Retired MP/MLA.

• Documents that are required to be attached with the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana of Jharkhand Government are mentioned below :-
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Bank Passbook.
  • Ration Card.
  • Voter ID.
  • PAN Card.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Self Declaration.

Steps to Apply

• Registration of Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana of Jharkhand Government is going to start from 3rd of August 2024.
• Special Camps for Registration will be organised by the Government in every Gram Panchayat/ Anganwadi Centre from 3rd of August to 10th of August 2024.
• Anganwadi Worker/ Assistant will distribute the Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana Application Form by visiting door to door of women beneficiaries house.
• Beneficiary Women can also collect the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana from special camps which was organised in every Gram Panchayat from 03-08-2024 to 10-08-2024.
• Beneficiary Women will have to fill the Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana Application Form carefully.
• Attach all the required documents with the Application Form.
• Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana Application Form will only submit in the Special Camps from 3rd of August to 10th of August.
• It is mandatory for Women Beneficiary to physically present at camp to submit the Application Form.
• Officers present at the camp will verify the Aadhar Card and Photo Women Beneficiary.
• Submitted Application Form and Documents will be verified by the concerned officers of the Women and Child Development Department.
• List of Women Beneficiaries selected for financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana will be made then.
• Women selected in Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana for per month financial assistance will be notified through SMS on her mobile number about selection or rejection.
• Selected Women Beneficiary will get financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month in their bank account.
• From January, Women Beneficiaries are receiving Rs. 2,500/- under Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana.
• It is to be estimated that around 48 lakh women will get the benefit of this scheme.
• Initially, the registration for Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana was commenced from 03-10-2024.
• And the last date to apply for Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana is 10-08-2024.
• Whereas, Women Beneficiaries can also apply for Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana after 10-08-2024 by visiting their nearest Pragya Centre.
