Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Recently, the Jharkhand government has announced various beneficial schemes for their citizens.
• Among them, one such scheme is the 'Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana'.
• Under this scheme, the government aims to extend the medical benefits provided under the centrally sponsored scheme 'Ayushman Bharat Yojana.'
• Central government sponsored Ayushman Bharat Yojana offers medical benefits up to Rs 5 lakhs only.
• According to the Jharkhand government, the benefits provided under the Ayushman Yojana are unable to cater the state's medical needs.
• To address this issue, former Chief Minister Champai Soren has announced the "Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana".
• Under this scheme, the state government will provide free medical treatment up to Rs 15 lakh too each household every year.
• However, the beneficiary continues to receive the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
• This scheme also covers the 21 critical diseases earmarked under the 'Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Yojana'.
• Therefore, the beneficiary of Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Yojana can opt for either 'Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana' or 'Gambhir Bimari Yojana'.
• The benefits of Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana can be availed by the beneficiaries who hold ration cards (Pink, Yellow, and Green) issued by the government.
• After its implementation, around 38.21 lakh families are going to receive the benefit of Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
• Medical treatment under the scheme will be provided at the hospitals accredited under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
• To receive benefits, applicants need to show the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana Card issued by the government to eligible beneficiaries.
• Applicants can apply for the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana Card online through its official portal or nearest CSC centres.
• To generate the card, applicants need to complete the e-KYC process through this portal
• Since its implementation, 4,83,127 applicants have registered for the scheme, among them 82,692 people successfully generated the scheme cards.

Scheme Benefits

• Benefits that are to be provided under the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana are given as : -
  • Free medical treatment of Rs 15 lakhs.
  • Treatment facilities will be provided in all government and private empanelled hospitals.
  • Benefits will be provided to all member of each households.
  • Ayushman Yojana beneficiaries are also eligible.

Eligibility Requirement

• To receive the benefits of free medical treatment under the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, applicants must meet its following eligibility criteria : -
  • Applicants must be domiciled resident of Jharkhand.
    
  • Applicants must hold a valid ration card (Green, Pink or Yellow) issued by the state or central government.
  • Applicants receiving benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana are also eligible for this scheme.

Required Documents

• To apply for the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, applicants are required to keep their following documents ready :-
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Ration Card Number (Yellow, Green, and Pink)
  • Mobile Number.
  • Family ID Number.

Steps to Apply

• Applicants can apply for the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana online.
• Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana applications form are available at its official website.
• To apply, applicants need to select the beneficiary (radio button) on the home page.
• Next, they need to enter their mobile number.
  
• Post providing the mobile number, press the 'Send OTP' button.
• Now feed this six digit OTP number received on your mobile number.
  
• Enter the captcha code that appears on the screen and press the 'Login' tab.
• After login successfully, you need to provide your ration card number or family id number.
  
• Enter the captcha code and press the 'Search' tab.
• The details of the family member details linked with the provided ration card number will be appeared on your screen.
• Select the e-KYC appears in front of the name whose card is to be made under the scheme.
• e-KYC process can be completed by two ways; through Aadhaar Number authentication or by registering selected member biometrics.
• Thereafter, enter the Aadhaar number of the selected member.
• In case of Aadhaar number authentication, applicants need to enter the verification code received on their mobile number.
• If using biometrics, applicants need to register their fingerprints.
• Once the e-KYC process is complete, applicants can download their Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana card.
• Ensure the details mentioned on the card are correct.
• By following the given procedure, applicants can generate scheme cards for all members.
• To receive the scheme benefits, applicants must present this card at the concerned hospital.

e-KYC Status

• Applicants can check their Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana e-KYC status online.
• To do this, they need to visit the official website of Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Scheme.
• On the home page, select the e-KYC Status.
• Enter the Aadhaar Number and Acknowledgment number.
  
• Post providing the required details press the search tab.
• The current status of e-KYC will be displayed on your screen.
