Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• For the development of people, particularly those who reside in rural areas, the Central Government has launched the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM).
• This programme has been launched under the Ministry of Rural Development Mission (MoRD).
• Under this, various programme will be launched across the country, which will be implemented by the respective state under their State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLMs).
• In West Bengal, the state government has launched the SRLM (State Rural Livelihood Mission) program as "Anandadhara" Scheme.
• The primary objective of the scheme is to reduce poverty by providing poor households with self employment and employment opportunities.
• This scheme is designed with an aim to support poor and vulnerable people in rural areas.
• Scheme also known as "WB Ananda Dhara Yojana" or "West Bengal Anandadhara Prakalpa".
• Anandadhara Scheme promises to empower every poor woman self-reliant with the help of Self Help Groups (SHGs).
• There are several women who are participating in various livelihood programme in various fields.

Eligibility Requirements

• To avail of the benefits provided under the West Bengal Anandadhara Scheme, women beneficiaries must meet the following eligibility conditions : -
  • Beneficiary must be a domiciled woman of West Bengal.
  • Women must be associated with Self Help Groups.
  • Women must be engaged in various economic activities such as : -
    • Seasonal Vegetable Cultivation.
    • Fish Farming.
    • Animal rearing training and more.
