Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• The Karnataka government is making every possible effort to cover each and every section of the societies in their welfare schemes.
• Karnataka Government launched a lot of schemes for the welfare of scheduled tribe people of the State.
• Among them, Schedule Tribe Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme is one the major welfare Scheme started by the Karnataka Government.
• The primary objective of Schedule Tribe Widow Re-Marriage Assistance is to restart the lives of Widows belonging to Schedule Tribe category whose lives were shattered post their husband demise.
• To oversee the scheme, the state government has appointed Tribal Welfare Department its nodal authority.
• Under Karnataka ST Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme, the state will provide financial assistance of Rs. 3,00,000/- for the remarriage of Widows of Karnataka.
• Widows of Schedule Tribe Category are eligible to avail the benefit of financial assistance under Karnataka ST Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• However, any women undertake financial assistance under the Karnataka Schedule Tribe Simple Marriage Assistance Scheme then such women will only be eligible for Rs. 2,50,000/- under this scheme.
• Scheme provides full liberty to women to choose their partner beyond any caste or religion.
• Karnataka ST Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme offers benefits to every class and category, irrespective of their annual income.
• However, the applicant and her spouse should be permanent residents of Karnataka State.
• It is mandatory to apply for ST Widow Re-marriage Scheme financial assistance within 1 year of marriage.
• Authority will not consider applications received post 1 year of beneficiary marriage.
• Death Certificate and Identity Proof of Widow's Deceased Husband should be uploaded at the time of applying for financial assistance.
• Present Marriage Certificate is required at the time of applying for Karnataka ST Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for financial assistance by filling Online Application Form of Karnataka Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme.

Scheme Benefits

• The following financial assistance will be provided to Widow of Karnataka after her Re-Marriage under Karnataka ST Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme : -
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 3,00,000/- will be provided.
  • Any women availed benefits under simple marriage scheme, will receive assistance of Rs 2.5 Lakh.
  • Assistance amount will be credited to widow bank account.

Eligibility Requirements

• Beneficiary must be domiciled resident of Karnataka.
• Beneficiary should be a Re-Married Widow and belongs to Schedule Tribe Category.
• Widows Should be Remarried to get Financial Assistance.
• Applications must be submitted within 1 year of Marriage.
• Spouse/ Husband of a Widow should belong to any Caste or Religion.

• The below mentioned documents is needed at the time of applying for financial assistance for marriage under ST Widow Remarriage Assistance Scheme of Karnataka Government : -
  • Domicile of Karnataka.
  • Aadhaar Card of Bride and Groom.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Marriage Photograph.
  • Present Marriage Certificate.
  • Deceased Husband Identity Proof.
  • Deceased Husband Death Certificate.
  • Mobile Number.

Steps to Apply

• Re-Married Widow of Karnataka State belonging to Schedule Tribe Category can apply for financial assistance under Karnataka ST Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme by filling Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Karnataka ST Widow Remarriage Assistance Scheme is available on Tribal Welfare Department Website.
• Beneficiary has to Register herself by entering the Aadhar Number of herself and the Aadhar Number of Husband.
• After Registration fill the personal details, contact details and marriage details, bank account details in the Application Form.
• Upload all the mandatory documents in the portal.
• Preview the Application Form carefully and Click on Submit Button.
• Take the print out of Acknowledgement Receipt for future use.
• Application Form of ST Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme and all the documents will be verified by the District Tribal Welfare Officer.
• After verification, the financial assistance under Karnataka ST Widow Re-Marriage Assistance Scheme will be transferred in the given bank account of beneficiary.
